Dining at Chili’s has been something I had been looking forward to since almost the beginning of the year. Each time I pass by Chili’s it always brimming with people and hardly any empty tables for walk-in customers to be entertained. Hence, this time round, I decided to make reservations to dine at Chili’s with my girlfriends despite it being a Thursday.
Ambiance at Chili’s was pretty quiet as we walked in about 6.30pm, to avoid the dinner crowd and start diner with appetizers and mojitos. Of course, towards the end of the night crowd picked up very fast and almost the whole place was packed.
We kicked of dinner with Triple Dipper (SGD 24). You basically get to choose 3 appetizers from their selection of 9. My friends and I decided to try their Texas Cheese Poppers (AWESOME!), Boneless Buffalo Wings (Bleah!) and Big Mouth Bites (Good!). Chili’s seems to be famous for their buffalo wings but somehow to us it was a major disappointment as we were expecting something spicy. We were then notified my staff that nothing on the menu in Chili’s is actually spicy. WHAT.A.LET.DOWN! Despite their name being Chili’s! Oh well!
Moving on to main course, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choices because I was. I took a while deciding on what to have from the selection of sandwiches to burgers to ribs to quesadillas and fajitas. Their fajitas and ribs are highly recommended and some steaks were on 15% off which was pretty worth it.
I decided to settle for their Southern Smokehouse Bacon Big Mouth Burger (SGD 25). Sounds like a mouthful already doesn’t it! This burger is one of Chili’s signature burgers. I wasn’t a fan of the way the bacon was done but otherwise I loved the burger and the portion was really huge which left me so stuffed I had no space for desserts. The popular and most recommended dessert at Chili’s would be the Molten Chocolate Cake which be reason enough for me to pay Chili’s a 2nd visit. Also, probably to try their Texas Cheese Fries and to have more Cheese Poppers probably.
On Thursdays, mojitos (SGD 14) are 1-1 till closing! Both mango and strawberry mojitos tasted pretty refreshing. Also, Presidente Margarita was one of the recommended margaritas so we decided to give it a go and weren’t disappointed. A jug of margarita costs about SGD 50 while a glass is about SGD 16.
Service at Chili’s during my visit was pretty excellent despite it being hard to get staff’s attention at times. Staff were friendly and recommended popular dishes and another plus is there is no 10% service charge!
Dinner for 4 at Chili’s costed us almost SGD 200 which works out to about SGD 50 per pax. But, on the whole, for the quality food and their drink options, Chili’s is a definite must dine place. Now that Christmas is round the corner, Chili’s might just be the perfect place to catch up with family and friends over some burgers, cheese fries and margaritas.
P.S. Just don’t expect spicy, tongue burning hotness in the food, you won’t be disappointed.Chili’s Grill & Bar (The Central @ Clarke Quay) 6 Eu Tong Sen Street #01-18 S(059817) Tel: 6225 81687 Opening Hours: Mon – Thu: 11:30 – 22:00 Fri – Sat: 11:30 – 23:00 Sun: 11:30 – 22:00 All images do not belong to Solosingaporean and have been credited to its rightful owner.
